I was visibly presented with a thought this week - that many of the problems we have in our lives are from the environment we are in. Often it is an environment we have put ourselves in (or have not addressed).
The thought came to me as I looked up at the sunflower on my kitchen windowsill.
The position in the window sill was perfect for a seed. Warmth from the sun, in clear view to remember to be watered regularly, protected from any winds. Perfect for that first growth. Great for the middle stage, but then suddenly not so great. Suddenly stifling and preventing further growth. It needed to move.
A place that is right for a season, may not be right for every season.
All it needed was to be moved - but where it went was important and so is learning the lesson for next time.
